These boots have been found to unnaturally

Recent statistics indicate that around 30 percent of all long term soccer injuries relate to the UGG Boots [bones that connect the upper foot and heel to the toes -Ed.] and some experts believe this could be due to the unique nature of the blade set-up.

These boots have been found to unnaturally increase loading under the lateral half of the foot which will predispose it to metatarsal injury. In stark contrast, studs were found to distribute the pressure across the Classic Cardy UGG Bootsand the pattern of pressure progression was within the normal range.

It is also considered by many that this type of boot not only increases the risk to the user, but also to opposing players. Several clubs have called for a ban on the bladed boot, after their players suffered from a number of horrific facial and leg injuries, caused by its unique Classic Short UGG boots-penetrating design. However soccer boots develop quickly, and hybrid stud patterns - a mixture of traditional studs and blades - further cloud the picture.
